Town of Scandinavia Feb. 10 board minutes

Scandinavia Municipal Center

The Scandinavia Town Board met on Wednesday, Feb. 10, at the Scandinavia Municipal Center and via web conference. Chairman Gary Marx called the meeting to order at 5:32 p.m. All board members present in person, and present via web conference Trey Foerster.

Frank Bauer made a motion to move New Business to the top of the agenda. Motion was seconded by Bryan Fuhs. Motion carried.

Frank Bauer made a motion to accept Clerk’s minutes. Motion was seconded by Bryan Fuhs. Motion carried.

Mike Mazemke provided the Treasurer’s report for January 2021. Frank Bauer made a motion to accept the Treasurer’s report. Motion was seconded by Gary Marx. Motion carried. 

Planning Commission Report – Planning Commission approved the application for Barden Zone Map Amendment and CSM.

Old Business

Municipal Center: The new doors will be installed. Frank Bauer made a motion to approve to cost for the locks for the new doors, cost $837.97. Motion was seconded by Mike Mazemke. Motion carried.

William Luy CSM Review: Frank Bauer made a motion to accept the William Luy CSM Amendment. Motion was seconded by Bryan Fuhs. Motion carried.

New Business

Planning/Zoning: Bauer made a motion to approve the application for Barden Zone Map Amendment and CSM. Motion was seconded by Gary Marx. Motion carried.

Open Book is on April 19 from 10 a.m.-noon via phone.

Board of Review is on April 26 from 6-8 p.m. at the Municipal Center.

Town of Scandinavia Annual Meeting is set for Tuesday, April 20, at 5:30 p.m.

Annual Road Inspection date is on hold on date until March Town Meeting

Biennial Bridge Inspections – hold on date until March Town Meeting

Humane Officer – The board will continue to look for someone to fill this position

Planning Commission Committee – A new member will be needed as soon as possible

Greater Waupaca Area Parks and Trails discussion – Bryan Fuhs made a motion to approve the proposed route though our municipality, which would go along Gurholt Road, Peterson Road, and County Q. Motion seconded by Frank Bauer. Motion carried.

Frank Bauer made a motion to approve the payment of bills presented including: Village of Scandinavia (February expenses), Village of Iola (winter maintenance), County Materials Corporation (winter maintenance), County of Waupaca-Treasurer (elections), Richard Chudy (dog license refund), Waupaca County Treasurer (PILT), Iola-Scandinavia School District (PILT), Fox Valley Technical College (PILT), Lashua Inc (winter maintenance). Motion was seconded by Bryan Fuhs. Motion carried.

Correspondence from the following was reviewed: Planning and Zoning sent a letter to Michelle Brunner, E1340 Gurholt Road, regarding running a business out of their residential property.

The March 2021 Board meeting will be held on Wednesday, March 10, at the Scandinavia Municipal Center at 5:30 p.m.
