The Town of Scandinavia Board met on Wednesday, Dec. 8, in the Scandinavia Municipal Center.
In attendance Holly Gray and Jim Nygaard.
Frank Bauer made a motion to approve the agenda. Motion was seconded by Bryan Fuhs. Motion carried
Bauer made a motion to accept Clerk’s minutes. Motion was seconded by Fuhs. Motion carried.
Mike Mazemke provided the Treasurer’s report for November 2021. Bauer made a motion to accept the Treasurer’s report. Motion was seconded by Fuhs. Motion carried.
Planning Commission Report – nothing to report
Road Issues – Plowing and sanding done after the snow. The County put in the snow fence posts, but the fence has not been put up yet.
Old Business
Ron Gavin Junk/Salvage Yard – nothing to report
Highway 49 (Scandinavia to Iola) project scheduled for 2020 after the Iola Car Show – date has been changed to 2022 – nothing to report.
Humane Officer – Holly Gray was in attendance to inquire about our Humane Officer opening. She will review the information and get back to us at the next meeting.
Scandinavia Firetruck Purchase – nothing to report
New Business
Municipal Center – Bryan Fuhs made a motion that we add the ADA accessible button to the inside door. The total cost is $3,469.55. The Village will pay 40 percent and the Town will pay 60 percent of the cost. Motion was seconded by Frank Bauer. Motion carried.
Appointment of 2022-23 election workers and chief inspectors – Fuhs made a motion to appoint the following election workers for the 2022-23 election term. Motion seconded by Bauer. Motion carried.
Scandinavia residents were appointed: Ron Hardel-Chief Inspector, John Charleston-Chief Inspector, Linda Charleston as Chief Inspector, Mary Peterson as Election Inspector, Charlotte Vaughn as Election Inspector, Cathy Hardel as Election Inspector, Terry Bobbe as Election Inspector, Wayne Luck as Election Inspector, Mary Jane Duberstein as Election Inspector.
50/50 Culvert Aid-we were reimbursed $8,144.74.
Brekke Lake Potential Land Division-there was discussion about the potential land division, more to follow.
Frank Bauer made a motion to approve the payment of bills presented including: Village of Scandinavia (December expense), KerberRose Technology Inc (computer expense), Rent-A-Flash of Wisconsin Inc (highway expense), Waupaca County Treasurer (taxes expense), Waupaca County Treasurer (highway maintenance), Kelly Zillmer DBA Zillmer Assessment Service (assessor), US Postal Service (PO expense), Iola Ambulance Service (4th Quarter Assessment), County Materials Corporation (winter maintenance), Waupaca County Treasurer (dog license), and Lashua Excavating Inc (highway expense). Motion was seconded by Bryan Fuhs. Motion carried.
Correspondence from the following was reviewed: Notice of Intent to Cut Wood Products from John Olson and Gene Nowakowski.
Public Input: Jim Nygaard, Waupaca County Board Member, gave an update on County topics.
The January 2022 Board meeting will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 12, at 5:30 p.m. at the Scandinavia Municipal Center.
