Town of Scandinavia Board Nov. 11 meeting minutes

Scandinavia Municipal Center

The Scandinavia Town Board met on Wednesday, Nov. 11, at the Scandinavia Municipal Center.

Chairman Gary Marx called the meeting to order at 5:38 pm following the Budget Hearing and Special Town Meeting.

Frank Bauer made a motion to approve the agenda. Motion seconded by Bryan Fuhs. Motion carried.

Bryan Fuhs made a motion to accept Clerk’s September minutes, with a correction to the Touchless Faucet for bathroom to $448. Motion was seconded by Frank Bauer. Motion carried.

Mike Mazemke provided the Treasurer’s report for October 2020. Frank Bauer made a motion to accept the Treasurer’s report. Motion was seconded by Bryan Fuhs. Motion carried. 

Road Issues – Gravel was put on Silver Lake Road and the boat landing on Simonson Road. We turned down an offer from Waupaca County to plow our roads and will stay with Lashua Excavating, Inc. at this time.

Old Business

Highway 49 (Scandinavia to Iola) project scheduled for 2020 after the Iola Car Show – Date has been changed to 2022, nothing new to report.

Municipal Center – High speed fiber internet has been installed and the virtual meeting audio visual equipment is in use for virtual meetings for the Village, Town, Fire Department, and Library. The first layer of blacktop has been put on the parking lot. We hope to have the finish coat done before winter. We are still waiting for the automatic door to be installed in the main entrance.

William Luy CSM Review – Bryan Fuhs made a motion to approve the agreement and resolution. The road set back agreement submitted by William Luy will be reviewed by the Town of Scandinavia lawyer and brought back at the next meeting for approval. Motion was seconded by Frank Bauer. Motion carried.

The 2021 Budget – Approved at the budget hearing tonight.

Frank Bauer made a motion to approve the payment of bills presented including – Village of Scandinavia (November expenses), Rent-A-Flash (highway expense), Waupaca County Treasurer (election), Waupaca County Treasurer (MFL), MPIC (insurance), and Depot Street Station LLC (highway expense). Motion was seconded by Bryan Fuhs. Motion carried.

Correspondence from the following was reviewed – Land Use Permit Applications from Stanley and Stacy Tadych, and Arthur Gans. Cutting Notice from Gene G. & Camille A. Nowakowski JT IR Trust.

The December 2020 Board meeting will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 9, at the Scandinavia Municipal Center at 5:30 p.m.
