The Scandinavia Town Board met on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at the Scandinavia Municipal Center. Present board members Gary Marx, Frank Bauer, Brenda Mazemke, Mike Mazemke, and Bryan Fuhs.

Meeting called to order at 6 p.m.

Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

Frank Bauer made a motion to approve the agenda. Motion was seconded by Bryan Fuhs. Motion carried.

Bauer made a motion to accept the Clerk’s minutes. Motion was seconded by Fuhs. Motion carried.

Treasurer’s report provided by Mike Mazemke for April 2023. The bank balance as of April 30, 2023, was $123,847.09. Bauer made a motion to accept the Treasurer’s report. Motion was seconded by Fuhs. Motion carried.

Planning Commission Report: Public hearing review of a Conditional Use Permit Application for non-metallic mining of construction fill by Faulks Bros Construction on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, at 6 p.m. At end of agenda.

Road Issues: Contractors have been contacted on road projects, so they should start early June, weather dependent. Waupaca Country Highway will be doing road patching this year.

Vandyke Junk Yard Salvage Yard – nothing to report.

Ron Gavin Junk/Salvage Yard – nothing to report.

Notice of Meeting to Adjourn Board of Review Until Later Date-Wed., May 10 at 5:30 p.m. was held. The BOR will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2023, from 6-8 p.m.

Brekke Lake ordinance discussed – nothing to report.

Planning/Zoning: Bryan Fuhs made a motion to approve the CSM application for property at N5586 Bergen Road-taking two existing 40-acre parcels and reconfiguring the 40 line to a new line. Motion was seconded by Frank Bauer. Motion carried.

New Business

Liquor License for Silver Lake Lanes and Operator’s Licenses for Silver Lake Lanes applications will be reviewed at the June board meeting.

Iola Car Show, Inc. Application for Temporary Class “and B”/Class “B” Retailer’s License and Operator’s License for Iola Car Show, Inc applications will be reviewed at the June board meeting.

Public Input: Greg Ambrosius of Iola and Jon Faulks-Waupaca.                                    

Old Car Show/Faulks Bros CUP application: Gary asked the Board members if they had any other questions or concerns. Fuhs made a motion to deny the CUP. Motion was seconded by Bauer. Motion carried.

Bauer made a motion to approve the payment of bills presented including: Village of Scandinavia (April expense), Muti Media Channels (legal notice), Village of Iola (winter maintenance), and County Material Corporation (winter maintenance). Motion was seconded by Fuhs. Motion carried.

Correspondence from the following was reviewed: Land Use Permit Application by Marvin and Nancy Wittrock Liv Trust, and Jason Kubisiak. Notice of Intent to Cut. None to review.

The June Board Meeting will be Wednesday, June 14, at 5:30 p.m.
