Town of Scandinavia Board Jan. 13 minutes

Scandinavia Municipal Center

The Scandinavia Town Board met on Wednesday, Jan. 13, at the Scandinavia Municipal Center and via web conference.

Chairman Gary Marx called the meeting to order at 5:38 p.m. All board members present in person, and present via web conference Trey Forester.

Frank Bauer made a motion to move New Business to the top of the agenda. Motion was seconded by Bryan Fuhs. Motion carried.

New Business

Planning/Zoning: Frank Bauer made a motion to approve the application for MCC, Inc (parcels 17-23-21-4, 17-23-12- 2, 17-23-13-4) Conditional Use permit application for the proposed expansion to non-metallic mine at the existing gravel pit located at Shady Drive south of Scandinavia. Use will be to extract Construction Fill only. Motion seconded by Bryan Fuhs. Motion carried.

Frank Bauer made a motion to accept Clerk’s minutes. Motion was seconded by Bryan Fuhs. Motion carried.

Mike Mazemke provided the Treasurer’s report for December 2020. Frank Buaer made a motion to accept the Treasurer’s report. Motion was seconded by Bryan Fuhs. Motion carried.

Highway 49 (Scandinavia to Iola) project scheduled for 2020 after the Iola Car Show, date has been changed to 2022, nothing new to report.

Municipal Center – nothing to report.

William Luy CSM Review – nothing to report

New Business

David Heise has given notice that 2021 will be his last year as Animal Control Enforcement for the Town of Scandinavia. We will start to research potential replacements.

Frank Bauer made a motion to approve the payment of bills presented including: Village of Scandinavia (January expenses), Village of Iola, (winter maintenance) County Materials Corporation (winter maintenance), USPS (stamps), County of Waupaca-Treasurer (elections), County of Waupaca-Treasurer (2020 recycling), County of Waupaca-Treasurer (elections), County of Waupaca-Treasurer (elections), Lashua Inc. (winter maintenance), Command Central (elections), David Heise (human officer), and Bruce J Meagher, LLC (attorney). Motion was seconded by Gary Marx. Motion carried.

Correspondence from the following was reviewed: Notice of Intent to Cut Wood Products from Carl E. Lantz. Land Use Permit Application from Ronald Sauer.

The February 2021 Board meeting will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 10, at the Scandinavia Municipal Center following the Town Caucus which will be held at 5:30 p.m.
