The Scandinavia Town Board met on Wednesday, August 11, 2021, at the Scandinavia Municipal Center and via web conference. Trey Foerster attended the meeting in person. Chairman Gary Marx called the meeting to order at 5:40 p.m.
Frank Bauer made a motion to approve the agenda. Motion was seconded by Bryan Fuhs. Motion carried.
Frank Bauer made a motion to accept Clerk’s minutes. Motion was seconded by Bryan Fuhs. Motion carried.
Mike Mazemke provided the Treasurer’s report for July 2021. Frank Bauer made a motion to accept the Treasurer’s report. Motion was seconded by Bryan Fuhs. Motion carried.
Planning Commission Report – There will be an Informational Public Hearing on Wednesday, Aug. 18, at 6 p.m. at the Municipal Center regarding the Van Dyke Junk/Salvage Yard.
Road Issues – There was major storm damage on July 28 and 29, which needed additional tree removal from some of our roads. Motion was made by Frank Bauer to approve the mower purchase with the Town of Iola. Motion was seconded by Bryan Fuhs. Motion carried. Faulks Bros.is working on some road patching.

Van Dyke Junk/Salvage Yard – noted in the Planning Commission Report above.
Humane Officer – will continue to look for someone to fill this position.
Annual Joint Meeting with Village of Scandinavia – Monday, Sept. 20, at 5 p.m. at the Scandinavia Municipal Center.
New Business
Iola Old Car Show, Inc. Temporary Class “B” Retailer License application was reviewed by the Board for the dates of Sept. 10-12, 2021, Rides for Heroes event. Motion was made by Bryan Fuhs to approve the Temporary Class “B” Retailer License application for the Iola Old Car Show, Inc. as requested. Motion was seconded by Frank Bauer. Motion carried.
Motion was made by Bryan Fuhs to approve the Operators’ Licenses for: Joe Opperman, Alexandria Johnson, Julie Seering, and Steve Tetzlaff. Motion was second Frank Bauer. Motion carried.
Frank Bauer made a motion to approve the payment of bills presented including: Village of Scandinavia (August expenses), Lashua Excavating, Inc (highway maintenance), Ricky Ertl (highway maintenance) Rent-A-Flash (highway maintenance), Depot Street Station LLC (highway maintenance), and Scandinavia Fire Dept (2% fire dues). Motion was seconded by Bryan Fuhs. Motion carried.

The September 2021 Board meeting will be held on Monday, Sept. 20, at 6:30 p.m. at the Scandinavia Municipal Center following the Village and Town of Scandinavia Joint Meeting which is at 5 p.m.
