Town of Scandinavia Board April 21 minutes

Scandinavia Municipal Center

The Scandinavia Town Board met on Tuesday, April 21, at the Scandinavia Municipal Center following the Annual Meeting. Chairman Gary Marx called the meeting to order at 5:52 p.m.

Frank Bauer made a motion to approve the agenda. Motion was seconded by Bryan Fuhs. Motion carried.

Frank Bauer made a motion to accept Clerk’s minutes. Motion was seconded by Bryan Fuhs.  Motion carried.

Mike Mazemke provided the Treasurer’s report for March 2020. Frank Bauer made a motion to accept the Treasurer’s report. Motion was seconded by Bryan Fuhs. Motion carried. 

Planning Commission Report – nothing to report.

Road Issues – The 2020 road repairs were reviewed. Bryan Fuhs made a motion to approve recommended road repair report as presented. Motion was seconded by Frank Bauer. Motion carried.

Old Business

Van Dyke Junk/Salvage Yard – nothing to report.

Ron Gavin Junk/Salvage Yard – nothing to report.

Highway 49 (Scandinavia to Iola) project scheduled for 2020 after the Iola Car Show – date has been changed to 2022. Nothing new to report.

Municipal Center – Village is taking care of having window screens replaced.

The Board of Review will be on Wednesday, April 29, from 6-8 p.m.

Annual Road Inspection-was completed on Tuesday, April 21.

New Business

Frank Bauer made a motion to approve the resolution for disaster declaration of FEMA pandemic. Bryan Fuhs seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Frank Bauer a motion to approve the payment of bills presented including: Village of Scandinavia (April expenses), Village of Scandinavia (first quarter sewer), Wally Gibbs (dog license refund), WTA Membership Dues, IMT Insurance (bond insurance), Swenson Tree Service & Logging (highway maintenance), Richard Christenson (highway maintenance), Waupaca County Highway Department (highway maintenance), Waupaca County PTF (highway maintenance), Office Outfitters (elections), and Waupaca County Post (notices).  Motion was seconded by Bryan Fuhs. Motion carried.

Correspondence – Reviewed a letter from a resident on Nicolay Shores Road requesting reconsideration to help pay for excessive gravel on his lawn from plowing. The Board voted to deny the request.

The May 2020 Town Board meeting will be held on Wednesday, May 13, at the Scandinavia Municipal Center which is at 5:30 p.m.

Gary Marx moved to adjourn. Motion seconded by Bryan Fuhs. Meeting adjourned.
