The Scandinavia Town Board met on Tuesday, April 19, at the Scandinavia Municipal Center and via web conference.
Present board members Gary Marx, Frank Bauer, Bryan Fuhs, and Mike Mazemke. Brenda Mazemke, Clerk, absent, so Mike Mazemke, Treasurer, took meeting minutes.
Frank Bauer made a motion to approve the agenda. Motion was seconded by Bryan Fuhs. Motion carried.
Bauer made a motion to accept Clerk’s minutes. Motion was seconded by Fuhs. Motion carried.
Mike Mazemke provided the Treasurer’s report for March 2022. Bauer made a motion to accept the Treasurer’s report. Motion was seconded by Fuhs. Motion carried.
Planning Commission Report – nothing to report.
Road Issues – discussed 2022 road projects.
Old Business
Ron Gavin Junk/Salvage Yard – nothing to report.
Highway 49 (Scandinavia to Iola) project scheduled for 2022 – nothing to report.
Humane Officer – Working on an agreement going with the Waupaca County Humane Society. We will continue to search for a humane officer.
Iola Car Show CSM – Bauer made a motion to approve the CSM. Motion was seconded by Fuhs. Motion carried.
Board of Review is April 25, 6-8 p.m. at the Municipal Center.
Annual Road Inspection is April 20.
Biennial Bridge Inspections will be performed by Waupaca County Highway Department.
ARPA Funds: Frank Bauer made a motion to transfer funds from the ARPA account into Premier Checking account to cover the road expenses that were reported on our ARPA filing. Motion was seconded by Bryan Fuhs. Motion carried.
New Business
Amherst Telephone Project of fiber optic build on Nottleson Road. Construction will begin sometime in 2022 based on project prioritization.
Bauer made a motion to approve the payment of bills presented including: Village of Scandinavia (April expense), Village of Scandinavia (1st quarter sewer), County of Waupaca Treasurer (winter maintenance) and (highway maintenance), Village of Iola (winter maintenance), IMT Insurance (bonding), Wisconsin Towns Association (2022-23 dues), Lashua Inc (winter maintenance), Swenson Tree & Logging Service (highway expense), and Multi Media Channels, LLC (notices). Motion included paying Waupaca County Settlement with Dog License. Motion was seconded by Fuhs. Motion carried.
Correspondence from the following was reviewed: Land Use Permit Applications from Jason Kubisiak, and Michael Duberstein.
The May 2022 Board meeting will be held on Wednesday, May 11, at 5:30 pm at the Scandinavia Municipal Center.
