Town of Scandinavia approves election inspectors

The Scandinavia Town of Scandinavia Board met on Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2023, at the Scandinavia Municipal Center. Present were board members Gary Marx, Frank Bauer, Brenda Mazemke, Mike Mazemke, and Bryan Fuhs. Public in attendance was Jim Nygaard

The agenda was approved as were the clerk’s minutes with one correction.

Treasurer’s report was provided by Mike Mazemke for November 2023. The bank balance as of Nov. 30 was $21,157.72. The report was approved.

The Planning Commission is working on Lantz Conditional Use Permit.

Rahn Road and Gurholt Road have been patched.

Old Business

There was nothing to report about Ron Gavin Junk/Salvage Yard.

There are Town of Scandinavia Board and Planning Commission open positions in 2025.

New Business

Bryan Fuhs made a motion to approve the following Election Inspector Nominations and Appointments: Chief Election Inspectors Ronald Hardel, John Charleston, and Wayne Luck; Election Inspectors Cathy Hardel, Charlotte Vaughn, Terry Bobbe, Ila Sanders, Mary Jane Duberstein, Melanie Draska, and Janice Walter. Motion was seconded by Frank Bauer and carried.

Frank Bauer made a motion to transfer $9,557.08 in ARPA funds from that account to our general fund. Motion carried.

Bauer made a motion to join the Town Advocacy Council in 2024. Motion carried.

Bauer made a motion to approve the payment of bills presented including: Village of Scandinavia (November expense), Lashua Excavating (winter expense), Iola Ambulance Service (4th Qtr Assessment), County Materials Corporation (winter expense), Waupaca County Treasurer (taxes), Waupaca County Treasurer (highway expense), Waupaca County Treasurer for Dog License, U.S. Postal Service (P.O. Box annual rental), Kelly Zillmer DBA Zillmer Assessment Service (assessor), Town of Iola (highway expense), and Melum Masonry LLC (municipal center). Bauer made a motion to transfer $13,000 from contingency to cover bills. Motion was seconded by Bryan Fuhs and carried.
