Town of Scandinavia Annual Meeting April 20

Notice is hereby given that the Annual Town Meeting for the Town of Scandinavia in the County of Waupaca, State of Wisconsin, for the transaction of business as is by law required or permitted to be transacted at such meeting, will be held at Scandinavia Municipal Center for said Town on Tuesday, April 20, at 5:30 p.m.

2020 Annual Meeting minutes

The Annual Meeting was held at the Scandinavia Municipal Center on April 21, 2020. There were five people in attendance: Gary Marx, Mike Mazemke, Bryan Fuhs, Brenda Mazemke, and Frank Bauer.

The meeting was called to order at 5:30pm by Gary Marx, Town Chairman. 

A motion was made by Frank Bauer and seconded by Gary Marx to approve the agenda. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Frank Bauer and seconded by Gary Marx to approve April 16, 2019, Annual Meeting minutes. Motion carried.

The Annual Financial Report was presented by the Town Clerk.  A motion was made by Gary Marx to approve the Financial Report. The motion was seconded by Frank Bauer.  Motion carried.

Mike Mazemke made a motion to dispense with reading the Treasurer’s report as it is the same as the Clerk’s. Motion was seconded by Frank Bauer.  Motion carried.

A motion was made by Michael Mazemke to have Premier Community Bank as the Town’s depositories for 2020-2021.  Motion was seconded by Frank Bauer.  Motion carried.

Frank Bauer made a motion to renew the Town’s membership in the Wisconsin Town’s Association.  Motion was seconded by Michael Mazemke.  Motion carried.

A motion was made by Mike Mazemke and seconded by Frank Bauer to allow the Town Board to borrow up to $75,000, if necessary.  Motion carried.

A motion was made by Bryan Fuhs and seconded by Frank Bauer to increase Town Board wages, which will go into effect after the 2021 election. Town Chairman $4,000; Town Supervisors $3,000; Town Clerk $12,500, and Town Treasurer $3,500.

A motion was made by Mike Mazemke and seconded by Gary Marx to increase Ricky Ertl’s wages to $17.00 per hour for mowing.

Gary Marx gave the 2019 Road Report. There was a total of six town roads that received a combination of chip sealing and cold mix wedging.  We did reconditioning and grinding on three town roads.  There were 10 town roads that had grading and limestone work. In addition, we patched on town roads that needed work. We replaced 2/3 of the town road signs. Brushed and mowed all roads twice, once in June and once in September.
