The regular monthly meeting of the Town of Helvetia was held at the Town Hall on Oct. 5 and was called to order by Chairman Calvin Preuss at 7 p.m.
Town Board members present Calvin Preuss, Gary Chich, Jeff Oppor, Liane Gruenwald, Kathy Quinlan. Town Residents present: Gary Prill, Mike Shostak, Greg Loescher, one additional town resident present.
The Board recited the Pledge of Allegiance.
Minutes of the pervious meeting were read by Kathy Quinlan. Motion to approve the minutes was made by Jeff Oppor, second by Gary Chich.
Town Bills were presented and approved with a motion by Gary Chich and a second by Jeff Oppor.
Treasurer’s report was given and approved with a motion by Jeff Oppor and second by Gary Chich.
New Business
Teresa Balinski was named Deputy Clerk, motion by Jeff Oppor second Gary Chich.
Greg Loescher invited all board members to attend the Dedication of the Historical Marker for the Town of Helvetia.
Speed Limit Ordinance was approved, signs will be put up upon the completion of the posting requirements
Clerk’s salary was raised to $20/hour with a motion by Gary Chich and second by Jeff Oppor.
Comprehensive Planning Committee: Gary Prill has nothing to report.
Public Input
Mike Shostak has concerns regarding road work on Swamp Road. Gary Chich will check with the County.
Next meeting is Monday, Nov. 2, at 7 p.m.
