The regular meeting of the Town of Helvetia Board was held at the Town Hall, and was called to order by Chairman, Calvin Preuss at 7 p.m. All Town board members were present. Two town residents were also in attendance.
The Board cited the Pledge of Allegiance.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read by Doug Hines, Clerk, and approved with a motion by Gary Chich, second by Jeff Oppor.
Town bills were approved and paid with a motion by Jeff Oppor, second by Gary Chich.
The Financial and Treasurers reports were given and approved with a motion by Gary Chich, second by Jeff Oppor.
New Business
The new town road off of Pagel Road has been named Red Sand Road and new signs and Fire numbers have been ordered.
Bids were opened for blacktopping Swamp Road: Waupaca Highway Department bid $78,200.00, American Asphalt bid $69,011.89. A motion by Gary Chich, second by Jeff Oppor was made to award the bid to American Asphalt.
More tires have been removed from town road ditches.
Adding Plexiglass to the town hall for election day use was tabled.
The Waupaca County Towns Association quarterly meeting will be held at the Helvetia Town Hall in August. The Town is responsible for refreshments.
Jeff Oppor provided estimates for a Town Hall flag pole, then a motion was made by Gary Chich, second by Jeff Oppor to set aside $250 for the purchase.
The Town hall will be rented June 13.
Class A and B Liquor License renewals were presented by the Clerk. A motion to approve a Class A license for Dale Pethke of Sandbur Corners was made by Gary Chich, second by Jeff Oppor. Then a second motion to approve Class B licenses for Linda Kubczak of Wings Inn, Julie Schoenike of Club 161 and Elizabeth Berkholtz of Glen Cairn Golf Course was made by Gary Chich, second by Jeff Oppor.
Gary Prill, of the Plan Commission, was not present.
A motion was made to approve the Conditional Use Permit for Richard and Gloria Briquelet by Jeff Oppor, second by Gary Chich.
Public Input
Mike Shostak was present to get update on Swamp Road.
