In a scheduled gathering at the Town Hall, the Town Board convened under the leadership of Chairman Jeff Oppor on July 5 at 7 p.m. The change in the meeting date had been properly communicated as required. All Town board members were in attendance, joined by an audience of four town residents.
The proceedings commenced with the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance by the Board.
The minutes from the preceding session were presented by Clerk Doug Hines. They were subjected to scrutiny and received approval through a motion initiated by Mike Grassl and seconded by Justin Hintz. Similarly, the endorsement and disbursement of Town bills followed, with a motion from Mike Grassl, seconded by Justin Hintz.
The Treasurer’s reports were presented and subsequently sanctioned following a motion by Justin Hintz, seconded by Mike Grassl.
New Business
A survey map concerning Mary Ingersoll was appropriately signed and is set to be returned to the county by the Clerk.
Deliberation on a propane contract was postponed until the next month. A revised monthly expense sheet was examined and will be implemented in the future.
A proposal to integrate a calendar onto the Town website, showcasing rental dates, was set forth by Mike Grassl and seconded by Justin Hintz. This initiative will undergo a six-month trial period. Additionally, Justin Hintz will now serve as the primary contact for driveway and culvert applications.
Those with lost or stray dogs were informed that they can visit the Sandbur General Store with a photo. It was disclosed that the design of the new Town Hall sign will be undertaken by I-S High School during the upcoming fall season.
Updates on ongoing projects were presented: Moen Road is presently undergoing reconstruction, accompanied by the installation of loose gravel signs. Justin Hintz personally attended to a fallen tree on Boelter Road, while Kelly Land has commenced ditch mowing. Furthermore, it was highlighted that the town claims ownership of the boat landing on Campbell Lake, and measures will be taken to fill in any holes with stone.
The need for new keys and locks for Town Hall doors was discussed, with Gary Prill tasked with obtaining the necessary arrangements.
Gary Prill, a member of the Plan Commission, reported no significant updates from their end..
