Town of Helvetia Board July 1 meeting minutes

Town of Helvetia Hall

The regular meeting of the Town of Helvetia Board was held on Friday, July 1, at the Town Hall and was called to order by Chairman, Calvin Preuss at 4 p.m. All Town board members were present and three town residents were also in attendance.

Notice of meeting date change due to the 4th of July holiday being on Monday was posted.

The Board cited the Pledge of Allegiance.

The minutes of the previous meeting were read by Doug Hines, Clerk, and approved with a motion by Gary Chich, second by Jeff Oppor.

Town bills were approved and paid with a motion by Jeff Oppor, second by Gary Chich.

The Treasurers reports were given and approved with a motion by Gary Chich, second by Jeff Oppor.

New Business

The board is looking for someone to due some tree trimming along town roads. Road patching is being done by Chad Bestul Excavating. New culverts were added to Aasen and Bestul Roads replacing the old ones.

Bids for Chip Sealing were opened. A bid by the Waupaca County Highway Department for $72,175 to crack and chip seal parts of Knutson Lake, Pagel and Campbell Lake roads was accepted as the lowest bid with a motion by Gary Chich, second by Jeff Oppor.

Swamp Road has been blacktopped with shouldering to follow. A trailer on County Road E, that was in violation of the Waupaca County Zoning laws, has been moved.

Gary Prill, from the Plan Commission, was not present.

A motion to adjourn was made by Gary Chich, second by Jeff Oppor.
