The regular meeting of the Town of Helvetia Board was held at the Town Hall and was called to order by Chairman Calvin Preuss at 7 p.m. All Town board members were present. One town resident was also in attendance.
The Board cited the Pledge Of Allegiance.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read by Clerk Doug Hines and approved with a motion by Jeff Oppor, second by Gary Chich.
Town bills were approved and paid with a motion by Gary Chich, second by Jeff Oppor.
The Financial and Treasurers reports were given and approved with a motion by Jeff Oppor, second by Gary Chich.
New Business
After consulting with the Wisconsin Towns Association, an elected Assessor’s salary is set by the Town’s electors and includes revaluations and keeping the Town in compliance.
The Urinal and Bubbler in the Town Hall were repaired and working again.
The Town does not need an ordinance for ditch clean up. The board needs to develop a written policy to take care of this issue. The board will research ideas for this.
The Clerk developed a resolution for Fire Inspection bills and will be on the February agenda for approval.
The discussion of a flag pole for the Town Hall was discussed and was approved with a motion by Gary Chich, second by Jeff Oppor.
The Towns building inspector Paul Hanlon has resigned effective March 1. A search for a replacement will be started immediately.
Bids will be taken when the Towns Insurance renews this spring.
Gary Prill of the Plan Commission had nothing new to report.

Board of Audit will be held after the regular meeting.
