The regular meeting of the Town of Helvetia Board was held at the Town Hall, and was called to order by Chairman Calvin Preuss at 7 p.m. All Town board members were present. One town resident was also in attendance.
The Board cited the Pledge of Allegiance.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read by Clerk Doug Hines and approved with a motion by Gary Chich, second by Jeff Oppor.
Town bills were approved and paid with a motion by Jeff Oppor, second by Gary Chich.
The Financial and Treasurers reports were given and approved with a motion by Jeff Oppor, second by Gary Chich.
New Business
The board will check with Waupaca County to see what amounts they go by and are small enough to consider not issuing refunds for tax overpayments.
The board decided not to pursue a complete outside audit of the books at this time. The towns annual audit has been used for years with no issues.
Wages and training for the deputy clerk will be the same as the town labor rate of $12 per hour.
The Board of Review could be delayed this year, with a new assessor taking over.
The Iola Historical Society would like the board to meet at the old town hall in the village. The board decided that the monthly meeting on June 7would work.
Two bids for Assessor were opened from Accurate Appraisal LLC from Menasha and Zillmer Assessment Service. After reviewing the bids, a motion was made by Jeff Oppor, second by Gary Chich to choose Zillmer Assessment Service as the winning bid.
There will be a Towns Association Meeting Feb. 18 via zoom.
A motion was made by Jeff Oppor, second by Gary Chich to approve a conditional use permit between Waupaca County and Francis Penterman.
Gary Prill, of the Plan Commission, had nothing new to report.
