The regular meeting of the Town of Helvetia Board was held at the Town Hall and was called to order by Chairman Calvin Preuss at 7 p.m. All Town board members were present. Two town residents were also in attendance.
The Board cited the Pledge of Allegiance.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read by Clerk Doug Hines and approved with a motion by Gary Chich, second by Jeff Oppor.
Town bills were approved and paid with a motion by Gary Chich, second by Jeff Oppor.
The Financial and Treasurers reports were given and approved with a motion by Jeff Oppor, second by Gary Chich.
New Business
Update with the Iola Fire Department: it is going to develop a new process for hiring a chief.
The Wisconsin Towns Association meeting is cancelled for August.
Swamp Road has been blacktopped.
The well water test passed, however a new cover on the casing is needed. The clerk has ordered operator license applications.
Missing signs on Blue Mountain Lake Road, Preuss Road, Roland Road, and Aastrud Road will be ordered.
A large pothole on Stoney Ridge Road was filled in.
The Town Safety Manual will be updated by Liane Gruenwald with a motion by Jeff Oppor, second by Gary Chich.
The idea of doing the annual board of audit monthly was tabled.
A motion was made by Gary Chich, second by Jeff Oppor to approve survey map for Faldet Farms property along Highway 161.
The clerk is to send a letter to the Town of Union regarding Swamp Road construction, the board took no action.
Also a letter will be sent to Christina Heindl concerning Town Road ordinances.
The board will look into developing a speed limit ordinance for Blue Mountain Lake Road.
The Clerk has sanitation prepared for the Aug. 11 election.
Gary Prill, of the Plan Commission, was not present.
Next meeting Monday, Sept. 7, at 7 p.m.
