The regular monthly meeting for the Town of Harrison was held on Monday, Nov. 9, at Northland Church.
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Dean Lashua at 6:30 p.m.
Present at the meeting were Rose Troast, John Phillips, Mike Schultz, Ann Casamassa, Jon Ann Kasson and Fran Moen.
The Clerk’s minutes from the previous meeting were read. A motion was made by Ann Casamassa and second by Mike Schultz to accept the minutes as read. Motion carried.
The Treasurer’s report was given. The beginning balance on Oct. 1, was $67,048.02. The total deposits for the month were $29,213.14 and the total of the checks and withdrawals was $13,348.01 leaving a total in the checkbook on Oct. 31, of $82,913.15. The beginning balance in the Money Market account was $31,938.98 and the interest collected for the month was $5.51 leaving a total in the account of $31,944.49.
New Business
A motion was made by Ann Casamassa and second by Mike Schultz to adopt the 2021 budget that was approved at the Public Budget Hearing for the Town of Harrison on Nov. 9. Motion carried.
The Board has made an agreement with Iola Township concerning snow plowing this winter on two roads that the towns share. Harrison will plow Brandt Road to the intersections of North Lake and Anderson Road. Iola Township will plow all of Aasen Road in the Town of Harrison.
Calls and concerns received by the Board during the month were discussed.
A motion was made by Mike Schultz and second by Ann Casamassa to adjourn the meeting at 7 p.m. Motion carried.
Public Hearing on Proposed Budget
The Proposed 2021 budget hearing for the Town of Harrison was held on Monday, Nov. 9, at Northland Church.
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Dean Lashua at 6 p.m.
Present at the meeting were Ann Casamassa, Fran Moen and Jon Ann Kasson. The Budget was presented to those present.
A motion was made by Dean Lashua and second by Ann Casamassa to approve the Budget as presented. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Dean Lashua and second by Jon Ann Kasson to adjourn the meeting at 6:10 p.m. Motion carried.
Special Town Meeting
A special Town meeting of the electors for the Town of Harrison was held at 6:30 p.m. following the Public Hearing for the 2021 Proposed Budget. The purpose of the meeting was to adopt the Levy for the 2021 Budget.
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Dean Lashua at 6:30 p.m.
Present at the meeting were Rose Troast, John Phillips, Mike Schultz, Ann Casamassa, Jon Ann Kasson and Fran Moen.
A motion was made by Ann Casamassa and second by Mike Schultz to adopt the Town Levy of $95,418 for the 2021 Town Budget. Motion carried.
