Town of Harrison Board June 8 minutes

Northland Lutheran Church

The regular monthly meeting for the Town of Harrison was held on Monday, June 8, at Northland Church.

Present at the meeting were Bob Kasson, Rose Troast, John Phillips, Brandon Schuster, Mike Schultz, Ann Casamassa, Robert Opperman, Jon Ann Kasson and Fran Moen.

The Clerk’s minutes from the previous meeting were read. A motion was made by Ann Casamassa and second by Mike Schultz to accept the minutes as read. Motion carried.

The Treasurer’s report was given. The beginning balance of May 1, was $138,040.07. The deposits for the month totaled $722.98 and the total for expenditures was $5,635.04 leaving a balance in the checkbook on May 31 of $133,128.01. The beginning balance in the Money Market account was $31,898.77. Interest collected was $8.87 leaving a total of $31,907.64 in the account.

New Business

Brandon Schuster gave the Board an update of the work that he has done in Township so far. Mowing town roads will begin in the next few weeks.

A claim from Mr. Christopher Westphal was presented to Rural Insurance who represents the Town of Harrison. His truck suffered damage on Comet Road during a rain storm on May 28. Our insurance company has denied compensation to Mr. Westphal. They instructed to Board to send a Notice of Disallowance of Claims to Mr. Westphal pursuant to Wis. Stat. 893.80(1g). The Board will send out the notice in the next few days.

A motion was made by Mike Schultz and second by Ann Casamassa to grant tavern license to Schmidt’s Corner and Northland Sports Bar and Grill. Motion carried.

A motion was made by Mike Schultz and second by Ann Casamassa to grant bartender license to Cynthia Berry, Adam Garvey, Amber Russell and Emily Hady. Amber Russell must complete her alcohol awareness course before her license will be issued. Motion carried.

Calls and concerns received by the Board were discussed.

A motion was made by Mike Schultz and second by Ann Casamassa to adjourn the meeting at 7 p.m. Motion carried.
