The regular monthly meeting for the Town of Harrison was held on Monday, Dec. 9, 2019, at Northland Church.
Present at the meeting were Carrie and Brian Powell, Diane Erickson, Patricia Johnson, Rose Troast, John Phillips, Bob Kasson, Dan Dowell, Jon Ann Kasson, Mike Schultz, Ann Cassamassa, and Fran Moen.
Chairman Dean Lashua called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m.
The Clerk’s minutes from the previous meeting were read. A motion was made by Ann Cassamassa and second by Mike Schultz to accept the minutes as read.
The Treasurer’s report was given. The beginning balance on Nov. 1, 2019, was $52,206.09. Deposits for the month were $10,320.64 and the checks and withdrawals totaled $10,419.24 leaving a balance of $52,107.49 in the checkbook on Nov. 30. The beginning balance in the Money Market account was $21,834.13 and the interest collected for the month was $6.94 leaving a balance in the account of $21,841.07.
Concerns from the public were addressed. They would like to see more sand applied to the town roads and would like to see if Double N could be plowed sooner than it has been in the past due to the heavier traffic that is on the road from the citizens in that area of the Township. There were also complaints of too much manure left on the roads by the haulers this year. The Board will look into these matters to see if they can take action to try to rectify these problems.
New Business
A motion was made by Mike Schultz and second by Ann Cassamassa to grant a bartender license to Emily Hady. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Ann Cassamassa and second by Mike Schultz to appoint Tracy Guzman, Diane Erickson, Patricia Johnson, Rose Troast, Diane Anderson, Ted Moen and Carrie Powell to the 2020-21 election board. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Mike Schultz and second by Ann Cassamassa to pay a wage of $12 an hour to the election inspectors and $ 13 an hour to the chief inspector. Motion carried.
Calls and concerns received by the board during the month were discussed.
A motion was made by Mike Schultz and second by Ann Cassamassa to adjourn the meeting at 7:20 p.m. Motion carried.
