The regular monthly meeting for the Town of Harrison was held on Monday, Dec. 14, at Northland Church.
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Dean Lashua at 6:30 p.m.
Present at the meeting were Rose Troast, John Phillips, Mike Schultz, Ann Casamassa, Jon Ann Kasson, Fran Moen and Brandon Schuster.
The Clerk’s minutes from the previous meeting were read. A motion was made by Ann Casamassa and second by Mike Schultz to accept the minutes as read. Motion carried.
The Treasurer’s report was given. The beginning balance on Nov. 1, was $82,912.15. Deposits for the month totaled $10,323.99 and the total of the checks and withdrawals was $11,496.43 leaving a total in the account of $81,740.71. The money market had a beginning balance of $31,944.49. Interest for the month was $5.43 leaving a balance in the account of $31,949.92.
New Business
The Town has been informed that the new election machine will not be delivered in time for the February and April elections held in 2021 caused by the various problems they have encountered due to the Corvid virus. The machine should be available to be delivered by the fall of 2021. Training for elections workers will be available immediately after delivery.
The caucus to nominate candidates to fill the following offices: Town Chairman, Supervisors 1 & 2, Town Treasurer and Town Clerk will be held at Northland Church on Saturday, Jan. 16, 2021 at 10 a.m.
Brandon Schuster discussed brushing of town roads which will begin soon and some concerns they had encountered doing winter maintenance on our roads. The Board will look into the problem areas and find a solution that will work best for the maintenance of our town roads.
Calls received by the Board during the month were discussed.
A motion was made by Mike Schultz and second by Ann Casamassa to adjourn the meeting at 7:15 p.m. Motion carried.
