  • WATERCOLOR PAITNING CLASS: Local watercolor artist Carolyn Rosenberger will instruct a class painting a winter scene on Monday, Jan. 9, from 9:30 a.m.-noon at Lessons from the Art in downtown Iola. Cost is $25. To register call 715-445-3442.
  • NEW MUSIC INSTRUCTOR: Ben Lila is the new music instructor at Lessons from the Art in Iola. He is also a new Iola resident. Ben Lila is a multi-instrumentalist, singer/songwriter, and band leader from Stevens Point, Wisconsin, and has been practicing for over 20 years. He received a degree in recording and audio from the Madison Media Institute and currently plays in regionally performing bands, “Red Ben and the Missing Miles” and “Bomber and Lila.” He will be teaching guitar, banjo, saxophone, and more starting in January.
  • YOUTH SKI JUMPING: Have a youngster who may be interested in ski jumping? The Iola Winter Sports Club needs youth to continue the program, which is free to participating families. Equipment is available. For further information contact Phil Johnsrud at 715-572-9884.
