Thursday Iola-Scandinavia news tidbits

Around Town

BOOK OF THE MONTH: “The Family Upstairs” by Lisa Jewell is the Book of the Month for the Scandinavia Public Library Book Club. Fika (beverages & treats) begins at 3:40 p.m. with the book discussion following at 4 p.m. To learn more about the novel go here.

PARENT-TEACHER CONFERENCES: Conferences in the Iola-Scandinavia School District are on Monday, Oct. 7, from 4-7:30 p.m. Teachers will be in their classroom to meet with parents and share information about student progress in class. Parental involvement is extremely impactful to a student’s success in school.

PRESCHOOL OPENINGS: The Iola Community Preschool has a few openings for the school year.

With a focus on fun, we offer 3-year-olds a terrific introduction to a classroom setting. In addition to social interaction and an introduction to a classroom routine, the kiddos are taught about sharing, classroom rules, numbers, ABC’s, colors, and some science. Classes are held Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 – 11am at the Iola Elementary School. Please note, the Iola Community Preschool is a registered 501(C)(3) not for profit organization and not an I-S School program. For more information, please contact Kristine at iolacommunitypreschool@gmail.com.

EERIC BESTUL FEATURED: Local musician Eric Bestul is featured in an article in the Waupaca County Post. Read it here.
