STORYWALK BOOK: Now on the StoryWalk® in Jorgens Park Preserve is Micaela Goade’s Caldecott Honor Award-winning book “Berry Song.” Follow along as a young Tlingit girl walks with her grandmother, singing to the land and learning to hear the land sing back in a song that connects us all, reaching back across the generations. HIGHWAY 49 CLOSURE:  Wisconsin Highway 49 closed Monday Morning Sept. 9th. Excavating is taking place to replace storm sewer (in Village of Scandinavia) and Nichol Creek water culvert (near Larson Road). There will be a second closure of Highway 49 that is scheduled for Monday, Sept. 23 to Friday, Sept. 27, for work just north of Waupaca for a culvert replacement at Larson Road. HOME AND RENTAL PRICES: In Sept. 2020, the median home sale price in Wisconsin was $230,100. As of July 2024, that figure had risen to $327,000, an over 42% increase, according to Redfin. In Wisconsin, the median rent in 2020 was $788 per month, while as of Sept. 2024, the median rent is $1,299 per month—a nearly 65% increase.
