AHERST CC MEET CANCELED: The I-S Cross Country meet in Amherst for today, Thursday, Aug. 24, has been cancelled due to the heat forecast.

OPEN HOUSE: The Iola-Scandinavia High School Open House will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 30, from 5:30-7 p.m. Check out the gym refurbishment and the updated Technical Education (shop) area.

SAVE THE DATE: Norske Needlers Turning Twenty Quilt Show, Iola Car Show Activity Center, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., over 200 quilts and quilted items.

SCHOOL LUNCH PRICES: School lunch is still a value at only $2.75 daily for students 4K-6 and $3.05 daily for students 7-12. Extra entrees are available to all MS/HS students for $1.50 regardless of their free or reduced status. Breakfast will be offered at the elementary school at a cost of $1.70 daily and breakfast will be offered at the MS/HS for $2.00. Milk prices are $.50. Your children may qualify for free meals or for reduced price meals. Re­duced price for lunch is $.40 per day for students 4K-12. Breakfast will be offered free to those students who qualify for reduced price meals (4K-12).

DOWNTOWN BEAUTIFICATION: The Village of Iola received an anonymous $25,000 donation to beautify its downtown.
