THIRSTY PERCH OPEN: According to a Facebook post by The Thirsty Perch, “We have decided to open Thursday and Friday July 3rd and 4th. Thursday we will be open 3-9 and Friday 2-10. … Stay tuned for our hours for next week as we work though how we will operate during this difficult time.”

BISON FOOTBALL CHANGES: North Dakota State University Head Coach Tim Polasek, an Iola native, has hired Iola native Kody Morgan as defensive tackles coach. Morgan has been at NDSU since 2016-22, and then was at Kent State as defensive coordinator in 2024. Meanwhile, veteran coach Nick Goeser, a Scandinavia native, announced his departure from coaching after 15 seasons with the Bison, including 10 FCS national championships. Read the story here.
