The Iola-Scandinavia High School volleyball team will host its Annual Fight Cancer Night on Thursday, Oct. 16, bringing the community together for an evening of support, remembrance, and spirited competition.
The event will take place inside The Thunderdome, with doors opening at 5 p.m. and volleyball action beginning at 5:45 p.m. Organizers expect the stands to be filled with Thunderbirds fans, families, and community members rallying behind those battling cancer, celebrating survivors, and honoring loved ones lost.
To add to the tradition, fans will soon be seen sporting the official event T-shirts. Supporters will be able to order their shirts in advance, with forms and payments due to the high school office — or by email to Stacy Bestul at bestuls@iola.k12wi.us — no later than Sept. 25. You can access the order form through the school’s shared link here.
School leaders anticipate the night will showcase more than volleyball — it will shine as a reminder of the strength and unity that define the Thunderbird community. “We’ll fill the stands, support the fighters, survivors, and remember the taken,” the team announced in its event message.
With the match expected to draw strong attendance, the Annual Fight Cancer Event will once again highlight the power of athletics in bringing a community together for a cause greater than the game.
