The Thunderbird boys’ varsity basketball team is at 2-0 in conference and 8-0 overall.
On Dec. 29 the T-Birds easily handled Nekoosa 61-29.
On Dec. 30 Iola-Scandinavia defeated Northland Pines 51-39.
The Thunderbirds have outperformed their opponents by a 106-77 margin in conference and 323-208 overall. I-S has a six-game winning streak going.
The team averages 54.6 points per game and Prahl leads his team with 18.8 points per game. Brock Wester has averaged 10.5 and Isaiah Hoyord 10. Prahl leads in rebounds averaging 11 and Kaden Jueds 7.4. Prahl is also assist leader with 3.7 average per game and Hoyord 3.
Weyauwega-Fremont is in second place with 2-0 conference and 4-3 overall marks.
Lady T-Birds at 8-3
The Iola-Scandinavia Thunderbird girls varsity team is at 8-3 and ranks in third place behind Bonduel 6-2 and Amherst 6-4.
On Dec. 21 the T-Birds defeated Pacelli 31-23.
The team has scored 227 first half points and 222 second half points this season.
The ladies have made 133 of 450 field goals (29.6%), 134 of 239 free throws (56.1%), and 21 of 98 three-point attempts (21.4%). The team averages 29.5 rebounds per game and has grabbed 126 on offense and 197 on defense.
