By Iola Village Library
The new summer reading program “Tails and Tales” will commence on June 14 and run through Aug. 6.
Our summer programs will be handed out in “Imagination Bags” available for pickup at the library. Read the description for each program below to see what will be held in person and follow our Facebook page for updates.
You choose one of three ways to register for our Summer Reading Program. You can pick up a “Summer Reading Log” at the library. You can install the “Beanstack Tracker” from the App store on your phone, search for “Iola Village Library” and scroll down to create an account. You can go to http://iolalibrary.beanstack.org and scroll down to create an account. Follow along each week to record your reading minutes and activities. We encourage families to do three or more activities each week. Read and do activities all 8 weeks and you will receive a small prize.
A mysterious tail has been seen around Iola this summer. What kind of animal do you think it belongs to? Do you know where the tail is? Each week we will post a new picture on the main entrance doors, inside the library and on our Facebook page. You can check out the picture and submit your guess using the paper provided and leaving it in our book drop or inside at the desk or by emailing us your answer. One prize winner will be chosen from all the correct guesses each week.
Pick up an “Imagination” Bag at the library each week. Each week will feature a different animal theme and every bag will include a project with instructions and materials to make it as well as additional ideas and activities that you can do at home.
Pick up a S.T.E.A.M. Bag at the library. Each week will be a fun and interesting new activity for you to do at home. Bags are for ages 6 and up, one per family.
Tie a blanket for the dogs and cats at the Waupaca County Humane Society and the Portage County Humane Society. You can tie one at the library or take it home and return it to us. Take a picture and send it to ivl@iolalibrary.org so we can share on Facebook.
