CWEC DONATES TO IOLA FOOD PANTRY: Mark Forseth, Operation Round Up Board Trustee, presents a donation of $500 to Sheila Olson, representative for the Iola Food Pantry. The funds were to be used by the Iola Food Pantry for their pantry needs. Funds in the CWEC Operation Round Up program come from the generous donations of CWEC members who elect to have their electric bills rounded up to the next highest dollar each month. BAKE SALE: Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Iola, will have a bake sale on Sunday, Dec. 10, when the Community Christmas Choir is at the church. The bake sale is sponsored by the Naomi Circle.

THAT’S A LOT OF PIES: The Crystal Café fulfilled 178 pie orders for Thanksgiving!

SCHOOL SURVEY RESPONSE: Only 448 school district residents responded to the Iola-Scandinavia School District survey. That’s 17 percent response rate on multi-million dollar expenditure questions. The respondents indicated they would support a $2 million referendum but not a $3 million one. Read the survey results here.
