Area businesses and residents aired their concerns at a public meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 5, about proposed highway 49 improvements from downtown Scandinavia to its junction with highway 161 in the Village of Iola.

The meeting was held at the Scandinavia Municipal Building.

The roadway surface will be milled 1.75-inches and a new top layer will be put down. There will be sidewalk improvements, centerline rumble strips added, the bypass lane at Meadow Lane may be removed.
