Rep. Brent Jacobson, 87th Assembly District

The Assembly Speaker’s Task Force on Rulemaking will hold a public hearing on Thursday, Nov. 20, at Northcentral Technical College, 1000 W. Campus Drive, in Wausau, offering residents a chance to share how state agency regulations impact their communities and workplaces.

Task Force Chair Rep. Brent Jacobson (R–Mosinee) emphasized that the hearing comes at a critical moment as lawmakers evaluate the effects of the recent Evers v. Marklein II court decision, which has introduced uncertainty into Wisconsin’s regulatory landscape.

“The regulatory uncertainty created by the Evers v. Marklein II decision is affecting every community in Wisconsin,” Jacobson said. “As our task force works to restore oversight to an unaccountable state bureaucracy, we’re committed to hearing directly from the people who feel the impact of agency rulemaking in their daily lives.”

The hearing is open to all members of the public. Attendees will have the opportunity to provide testimony, share personal experiences with state regulations, and offer feedback to help guide future legislative action. Jacobson noted that rules drafted in Madison often have far-reaching consequences, making public participation essential.

“I look forward to a productive discussion and to hearing the experiences of everyday Wisconsinites,” Jacobson said.
