Shirley J. Dillenbeck obituary

Shirley J.  Dillenbeck

November 28, 1949 – July 19, 2023

It is with great sadness that the family of Shirley J Dillenbeck (Blaney) announce her sudden passing on Wednesday, July 19, 2023, at the age of 73.

She was born on Nov. 28, 1949, in Villa Grove, Illinois, the daughter of the late Floyd Sr. and Alice (Blaney) Williams.

After graduating from Iola High School in Iola, Wisconsin, in 1967, Shirley married Dan Kropidlowski. Together, they raised two daughters, Sheila and Paula. In later years, the two divorced.

In 2004, Shirley married Clay Dillenbeck. Through the years, they enjoyed spending time camping, telling stories, and making memories around many campfires with family members.

She will be lovingly remembered by all for her cooking. She truly enjoyed baking and cooking for everyone. She baked pies for many fundraisers through the years and made them for R.D.’s Diner in Stevens Point, Wisconsin. Her cooking was also often enjoyed at many local dog sporting events. When she wasn’t cooking, she loved watching and feeding wildlife.

Shirley was a true caregiver at heart. She never missed an opportunity to help anyone in need. Her home was always a safe place to land; whether you needed somewhere to stay, a hot meal or a shoulder to cry on, her door was always open. Shirley could talk to anybody and made friends easily. It wasn’t unusual for a quick run into the grocery store to turn into an hour-long gab session with friends, new and old. After all, Shirley loved big and unconditionally. Nothing was more important to her than family.

Shirley is survived by her husband Clay; her two daughters Sheila (Chad Aldrich) and Paula (Ricky Carl); grandson Brian and granddaughter Jasmine. She also leaves behind her precious pup Dixie.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Don, Floyd (Jr), Robert, and her sister Shirley.

The family is making arrangements for private services to be held. A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date.
