By Iola-Scandinavia DECA

Iola-Scandinavia High School DECA participants

On Friday, Jan. 7, Iola-Scandinavia DECA members competed in the District 2 competition at Mid-State Technical College in Wisconsin Rapids.

Students were tested on their business and marketing knowledge, then participated in business scenario role plays on topics ranging from accounting to hotel and lodging management to sports and entertainment marketing.

Seven students finished in the top three in their groups, earning automatic qualification to the state qualification in Lake Geneva next month. They will be joined by other I-S DECA members who qualify through other methods. Thank you also to the I-S community members who volunteered as judges and help for the event. Congratulations to all!
