The Scandinavia Village Board will convene its monthly meeting at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Oct.14, in the Community Room of the Municipal Center, 349 North Main Street, to address several ongoing and new matters, including zoning issues, a sewer system update, a fire truck purchase update, and permit requests for the Happy Daaze business.
The meeting will begin with the Call to Order, Pledge of Allegiance, and Roll Call, followed by the approval of the October agenda and September meeting minutes. Afterward, the board will open the floor for public comment, allowing residents to share feedback or concerns before official business begins.
Under Unfinished Business, trustees will continue discussions on three major topics: zoning, the village’s sewer project, and progress on acquiring a new fire truck. The zoning discussion is expected to involve ongoing adjustments to local land-use regulations. The sewer update will likely review recent maintenance and any progress on infrastructure improvements. The fire truck update will inform residents about the timeline and funding status for the village’s planned equipment upgrade.
In New Business, the board will consider two requests from Happy Daaze, a local establishment seeking approval for a beer garden permit and an off-street parking plan. The permit, if approved, will allow outdoor alcohol service, while the parking plan review will determine compliance with village ordinances regarding customer and employee parking.
The board will also review pending projects, approve monthly bills, and verify cash fund balances and year-to-date financials before adjourning. These routine fiscal reviews ensure that the village’s accounts remain accurate and transparent for residents.
The meeting will conclude with any final motions before adjournment. All residents of the Village of Scandinavia are invited to attend and observe the proceedings in person.
