On Tuesday, Sept. 10, the Scandinavia Village Board and Plan Commission will hold a public hearing to discuss two significant agenda items.

The hearing, scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. at the Scandinavia Municipal Center, will address a Conditional Use Permit for the installation of a display and storage shed in Scandinavia Memorial Park. Additionally, the board will review an ordinance amending the zoning code, specifically relating to the R-1 Single-Family Residential District.

The proposed amendment to the zoning code under consideration will revise Section 9-1-14 of the Village of Scandinavia’s land use regulations, potentially altering zoning districts and the associated map. These changes are expected to impact the rules governing single-family residential areas, with details set to be discussed during the hearing.

Members of the public are invited to attend and provide input on both the permit and the zoning ordinance amendment. The public hearing will be closed once all interested parties have had the opportunity to speak.
