The Scandinavia Village Board met Jan. 13 in the Community Room at the Municipal Center. It approved enforcement letters for two properties out of compliance with village ordinances while receiving updates on sewer infrastructure, road funding applications, and other municipal projects.
President David Mork called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m., followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. Trustees Mike Hayes, Kelton Wilhite, Kyle Swenson, and Daniel Koehler were present, along with Clerk Alison Dunham, Deputy Clerk Mike Stockwell, and Treasurer Bob Fredy.
The board unanimously approved the January agenda and the December meeting minutes. No members of the public offered comment.
On zoning matters, trustees voted 5-0 to send 30-day compliance letters to the owners of 153/155 Norse Street and 330 N. Main Street for violations of village ordinances.
Deputy Clerk Stockwell reported that quarterly monitoring well samples for the sewer system had been collected and that the heater at the lagoon hut had been repaired. Trustee Hayes said he would contact American Asphalt, with bids for parking lot work expected in March.
President Mork informed the board that paperwork for the Ice Age Trail, provided by Greg Loescher, had been signed.
The board passed a Public Depository Resolution by a 5-0 roll-call vote.
Stockwell updated trustees on state road funding programs. He said a joint ARIP application with the township to bring Shady Drive/Road up to specifications that would remove weight limits proved not feasible for either entity at this time. For the LRIP program, he reported that staff planned to prepare an application for the next funding cycle.
Trustees approved a motion to split the cost of a new refrigerator for the Municipal Center kitchen 60/40 with the township.
The board reviewed pending projects, approved bills as presented, verified cash fund balances, and received year-to-date financials from Treasurer Fredy.
The meeting adjourned at 5:31 p.m.
