The Scandinavia Town Board met on Wednesday, June 14, at the Scandinavia Municipal Center.
Present board members Gary Marx, Frank Bauer, Brenda Mazemke, Mike Mazemke, and Bryan Fuhs. Guests: Jim Nygaard, David Loken, and Trey Forester
Meeting called to order at 5:31 p.m.
Pledge of Allegiance
Frank Bauer made a motion to approve the agenda. Motion was seconded by Bryan Fuhs. Motion carried.
Frank Bauer made a motion to accept the Clerk’s minutes. Motion was seconded by Bryan Fuhs. Motion carried.
Treasurer’s report provided by Mike Mazemke for May 2023. The bank balance as of May 31, 2023, was $123,817.57. Frank Bauer made a motion to accept the Treasurer’s report. Motion was seconded by Bryan Fuhs. Motion carried.
Planning Commission Report – nothing to report.
Road Issues – Scheduled roadwork is in progress. Brekke Lake boat landing issue will be fixed.
Old Business
Vandyke Junk Yard Salvage Yard – nothing to report.
Ron Gavin Junk/Salvage Yard – nothing to report.
Brekke Lake ordinance discussed – a sign will be installed by winter.
Silver Lake Lanes, Inc. annual renewal of Liquor License was reviewed by the Board. Motion was made by Frank Bauer to approve the Annual Renewal application for Liquor License for Silver Lake Lanes, Inc as requested for 2023-24. Motion was seconded by Bryan Fuhs. Motion carried.
Motion was made by Frank Bauer to approve the annual renewal of Operators’ Licenses for: Delaney Timdel, Karen Thulien, Vicky Koss, Jared Thulien, Kevin Kielblock, Bob Fredy, Stacey Donovan, Matthew Michalak, and April Niemi. Motion was seconded by Bryan Fuhs. Motion carried.
Iola Old Car Show, Inc. Temporary Beer Wine License application was reviewed by the Board for the dates of July 5-9. Motion was made by Frank Bauer to approve the Temporary Beer Wine License for the Iola Old Car Show, Inc. as requested. Motion was seconded by Bryan Fuhs. Motion carried.
Motion was made by Frank Bauer to approve the annual renewal of Operators’ Licenses for: Brian Kozlowski, Barbara Sauer, Duane Zaborowski, Donna Zaborowski, Bob Hollar, Daniel Tap, Frederick Boehm, and Pete Fannin. Motion was second Bryan Fuhs. Motion carried.
New Business
Rural Mutual Insurance Annual Insurance Check-Up was done by David Loken. He reviewed our current policy and coverages.
We discussed Municipal Center parking and reviewed the work orders from the County.
Frank Bauer made a motion to approve the payment of bills presented including: Village of Scandinavia (May expense), Muti Media Channels (legal notice), Scott Construction (highway expense) Lashua Excavating (highway expense), Kelly Zillmer DBA Zillmer Assessment Service (assessor), Office Outfitters (supplies), and Waupaca County Treasurer (highway expense). Motion was seconded by Bryan Fuhs. Motion carried.
Correspondence from the following was reviewed: Land Use Permit Application Chad A. Cloutier, Matt Johnson, Kenneth M. and Claudia Jo Krumsee, Jason Wisinski, Cole and Taylor Nelson, and Krissy Wasrud. Notice of Intent to Cut, none to review.
Public Input: Trey Forester complimented the Town of Scandinavia Board on the way the Sand Mine discussion was handled.
The July Board Meeting will be Wednesday, July 12, at 5:30 p.m.
