The Scandinavia Town Board met on Wednesday, July 14, at the Scandinavia Municipal Center and via web conference. Chairman Gary Marx called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m.
Frank Bauer made a motion to approve the agenda. Motion was seconded by Bryan Fuhs. Motion carried.
Frank Bauer made a motion to accept Clerk’s minutes with a change to Iola Old Car Show Liquor License to Beer and Wine License. Motion was seconded by Bryan Fuhs. Motion carried.
Mike Mazemke provided the Treasurer’s report for June 2021. Frank Bauer made a motion to accept the Treasurer’s report and opening an account at Premier Bank for our ARPA money until we have decided how we want to spend the money. Motion was seconded by Bryan Fuhs. Motion carried.
Planning Commission Report – nothing to report
Road Issues – Scott Construction is done with all road work. The first mowing of ditches has been completed. Reviewed tree trimming on some of the town roads.
Old Business
Van Dyke Junk/Salvage Yard – We received an application for a Conditional Use Permit. The Town Chair will be meeting with the County to discuss, and a date will be set to meet with the Planning Commission to review the application later.
Ron Gavin Junk/Salvage Yard – nothing to report
Highway 49 (Scandinavia to Iola) project scheduled for 2020 after the Iola Car Show – date has been changed to 2022 – nothing new to report.
Humane Officer – will continue to look for someone to fill this position.
New Business
Set date of Annual Joint Meeting with Village of Scandinavia – Proposing Monday, Sept. 20, or Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2021, to the Village of Scandinavia for consideration.
Frank Bauer made a motion to approve the payment of bills presented, except the Scott Construction bill until the August meeting, including: Village of Scandinavia (July expenses and 1st and 2nd quarter sewer), Scott Construction, Inc. (highway maintenance), Depot Street Station, LLC (highway maintenance), Lashua Excavating, Inc. (highway maintenance), Office Outfitters (miscellaneous), Waupaca County-Treasurer (highway maintenance), and Faulks Bros. Construction, Inc. (highway maintenance). Motion was seconded by Bryan Fuhs. Motion carried.
Correspondence from the following was reviewed – Land Use Permit Applications from Robert and Ashley Kuhns.
The August 2021 Board meeting will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 11, at 5:30 p.m. at the Scandinavia Municipal Center.
