
The Scandinavia Town Board met on Feb. 11 at the Scandinavia Municipal Center, where members received updates on local infrastructure, approved zoning changes, and heard details about an upcoming School District of Waupaca referendum.
Board Chair Bryan Fuhs called the meeting to order. Board members present included Brenda Mazemke, Bryan Fuhs, Lonnie Pryzbylski, and Mike Mazemke.
The board approved the previous meeting minutes and the treasurer’s report. In new business, the board set the annual town meeting for Tuesday, April 21, at 5:30 p.m. at the same location.
Waupaca School District Administrator Dr. Mark Flaten and School Board President Betty Manion presented information on the April 7, 2026, referendum, which seeks to exceed the state revenue limit by $2.75 million annually for the 2026-27 and 2027-28 school years to address operational and maintenance costs.
The board approved a zone map amendment application for David and Barbara Nelson on parcel 17-22-31-1 and a resolution for a comprehensive plan and zone map amendment for Steven Altendorf on parcel 17-02-41-2. Both items had received prior approval from the Planning Commission.
In old business, officials reported continued coordination with Waupaca County on junk and salvage yard issues involving Van Dyke and Ron Gavin, road rework for Randy Stuczynski on Oak Ridge Road, and the status of the Knauer conditional use permit. No updates were provided on the Iola Ambulance Service’s planned 2027 ambulance or the municipal parking lot.
The board authorized bi-annual bridge inspections by the Waupaca County Highway Department and annual road inspections by Scott Construction.
Members approved payment of presented bills, with certain invoices — such as those to the Village of Scandinavia and Iola Ambulance Service — deferred pending receipt of Waupaca County January installments or other funds.
No public input was offered during the session. No new land use permits or notices of intent to cut were reported.
