Scandinavia Municipal Center

The Town of Scandinavia Board of Supervisors, comprising Frank Bauer, Brenda Mazemke, Bryan Fuhs, Lonnie Pryzbylski, and Mike Mazemke, convened on Wednesday, Jan. 14, at the Scandinavia Municipal Center starting at 5:30 p.m., with public attendee Ricky Ertl present. The board approved the meeting agenda, clerk’s minutes from the prior session, the December 2025 treasurer’s report, and payments for several municipal bills while deferring one vendor invoice.

Bryan Fuhs, the board chair, called the meeting to order at 5:36 p.m. Frank Bauer moved to approve the agenda, with the motion seconded by Lonnie Pryzbylski. The motion carried unanimously. Bauer also moved to accept the clerk’s minutes from the previous meeting, again seconded by Pryzbylski. That motion carried as well.

Mike Mazemke presented the treasurer’s report for December 2025, noting a check register balance of $4,483.88 as of Dec. 31, 2025. Bauer moved to accept the report, seconded by Pryzbylski, and the motion carried.

The board received an update on the Planning Commission, scheduled to meet on Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2026, at 5 p.m.

Fuhs reported on road issues, stating that the town fielded a few resident calls requesting sanding for ice-covered roads. Those concerns will be addressed directly by the chair.

Under old business, the board discussed the Van Dyke Junk/Savage Yard matter, determining that Waupaca County would handle resolution of the issues. On the Knauer conditional use permit update, members agreed to follow up with Waupaca County for status details. Regarding open positions on the Town Board and Planning Commission, the supervisors resolved to continue recruitment efforts to fill the vacancies.

In new business, Bauer moved to approve payments for bills presented, excluding invoices from Lashua Inc. pending receipt of the Waupaca County January installment. The approved disbursements included expenses to the Village of Scandinavia for December operations and fourth-quarter sewer services; Waupaca County Treasurer for miscellaneous and winter-related costs; County Materials for winter expenses; Office Outfitters for miscellaneous items; Brenda Mazemke for miscellaneous expenses; and the Town of Iola for 2026 recycling costs. Pryzbylski seconded the motion, which carried.

The board reviewed correspondence, including land use permit applications from Kevin Dombrowski and from Tom Jenner, Linda Jenner and Stephanie Wickstrom, as well as a notice of intent to cut from Christina Cox.

The next board meeting was set for Wednesday, Feb. 11, at 5:30 p.m. at the Scandinavia Municipal Center.
