Scandinavia’s baseball team delivered a commanding performance in the Round 1 playoff game of the Badger Amateur Baseball Association Central Division, defeating Winneconne 15-0 on Aug. 11. The lopsided victory showcased Scandinavia’s potent offense and stellar pitching, securing their place in the next round of the playoffs.
On Aug. 18 at home, the Vikings will take on the Irish from New London with a 1:30 p.m. start.
Starting pitcher Ben Lee was in top form, earning the win for Scandinavia with a shutout performance, while Carter Rhode took the loss for Winneconne. Scandinavia’s hitters were relentless, with Landon Moe, Marcus Glodowski, and Logan Moe leading the charge. Landon Moe went 3-for-5, Marcus Glodowski went 3-for-4, and Logan Moe matched his brother’s performance, also going 3-for-5.
Winneconne struggled to find any offensive rhythm against Scandinavia’s pitching. Jaydon Peplor and Cody Behm were the only hitters able to reach base, with Peplor going 1-for-3 and Behm 1-for-2. However, their efforts weren’t enough to spark a comeback, as Scandinavia’s defense held strong throughout the game.
