The Scandinavia Corn Roast, held from Aug. 2-4, was a resounding success, according to announcements made by the event organizers. Sponsored by the Scandinavia Booster Club, the annual event drew crowds for its parade and chainsaw carving competition.

The Corn Roast Parade was a highlight, featuring around 40 creative floats adorned with witches, scarecrows, and tin men. The parade winners were announced with RH Fischer Overhead Door taking first place, Silver Lake Lanes securing second, and Cottage Garden Farm earning third. Honorable mentions were awarded to Boogie Sauce on Odin & Freja’s Place, Crystal Cafe, and Melum Masonry LLC for their impressive entries.

The 2024 Scandinavia Corn Roast Masterpiece Carving competition also showcased exceptional talent. Nasby Chainsaw Art took first place with a striking eagle swing. A tie for second place saw Derek Richardson’s ChainsawArt and Buschke Carving sharing the spotlight for their patriotic eagle bar and eagle bench, respectively. Third place went to Bear-Grrr Custom Chainsaw Carvings for their intricate cow bench.
