IOLA AUTHOR TARGETED: Mark Moran, an antiques appraiser and author based in Iola, says someone impersonated him online in an attempt to solicit paid speaking engagements under his name. Moran, who has appeared on “Antiques Roadshow” and has written 25 books on collectibles — covering topics including vintage dolls, pottery, and furniture — said he received an email that drew his attention to the scheme. BOND SET: Desiree Osman appeared in court on Friday, charged with first-degree reckless homicide, delivering heroin, and helping hide a corpse after the 2020 disappearance of Jon “Jake” Morgan, 22.
