Sandra L. Schumacher obituary

Sandra L. Schumacher

March 28, 1940 – October 1, 2024

Sandra L. Schumacher, 84, of Scandinavia, Wisconsin, went to her heavenly home on Oct. 1, 2024.

She was born on March 28, 1940, in Illinois to Louis and Evelyn (Mock) Orban. Sandy married Gordon Schumacher in Elgin, Illinois on June 4, 1960.

Sandy and Gordy found a 60-acre farm in Scandinavia and moved their family there in 1976.

Sandy worked in bookkeeping at Neuville Motors in Waupaca and retired after 20 years.

She was a member of the Scandinavia Lutheran Church, where she sang in the choir. Sandy loved traveling with her cousin Linda. She enjoyed working outside in her flower garden, drinking coffee with her girlfriends at Too-Dars in Iola, Wisconsin, and discussing world affairs. Sandy cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and was happiest when spending time with each and every one of them.

She is survived by her sons: Gregg (Toni) Schumacher and Gary Schumacher, both of Iola; son-in-law Greg Seubert of Weyauwega, Wisconsin; grandchildren Brandon Graham of Hokah, Minnesota, Jon Schumacher of Manawa, Wisconsin, Bryan Schumacher of Roy, Utah, Justin (MaKenna) Schumacher of Weyauwega, Sorcia Rock of Genoa City, Wisconsin, Aiden Rock of Almond, Wisconsin, and Dylan and Kyle Seubert of Weyauwega; great-grandchildren Calvin Schumacher, Audrey Schumacher, Sterling Schumacher, Macklynn Schumacher, and Emrys Platts.  Other relatives and many friends also survive her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordy; daughter, Sheri Seubert; and parents, Louis and Evelyn Orban.

In honor of Sandy’s memory, a gathering of family and friends will be held at Voie Funeral Home in Iola on Saturday, Oct. 12, from noon to 3 p.m. This event will serve as a time of reflection and remembrance, as those who knew Sandy come together to celebrate her life and the impact she had on those around her.
