Rozelle Elizabeth Janke

Rozelle Elizabeth Janke, 91, passed away peacefully at The Willows Assisted Living in Iola, Wisconsin, on Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2024.
Rose was born on May 22, 1933, to Daniel and Eva (Miller) Keller in the Town of Royalton, Waupaca County, Wisconsin.
On Feb. 17, 1951, she was united in marriage to Leo R. Janke at St. Paul Lutheran Church parsonage in Manawa, Wisconsin. After his return from U.S. Army service in 1952, they operated a dairy farm in the Town of Helvetia, Waupaca County, for many years and raised a family of three daughters and two sons.
Following their retirement in the late 1980s, they spent many summer seasons at campground sites at several lakes and flowages north of Tomahawk, Wisconsin. In addition to fishing, Rose enjoyed gardening, playing cards, and many visits with family members and friends.
Survivors include her daughters Karen (Joe) Holman and Terri (Jeff) Kent and son Ben Janke (Su Fischer), 12 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by a sister Shirley Alberts, brother-in-law Robert (Pat) Janke, sisters-in-law Marilyn Keller, Myrene Janke and Mildred Janke, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Rose was predeceased by her parents, her husband Leo, son Gary Janke and daughter Tammy Dunkel. She was also preceded in death by her brother Edward Keller, sisters Pauline (Keith) Geske, Irene Keller and Geneva Keller, brothers-in-law Marv Alberts, Louis Janke, Benjamin Janke and Henry Janke, and sisters-in-law Adeline Janke and Nora (Leland) Krueger.
A visitation for Rose will be held Tuesday, Dec. 3, at Voie Funeral and Cremation Care in Iola at 10 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. Rev. Jeff Smiles of St. Mark Lutheran Church in Symco, Wisconsin, will officiate. A luncheon at Silver Lake Lanes in Scandinavia, Wisconsin, will follow the service. Interment of ashes will occur at Baldwins Mill Cemetery, Town of Royalton, Waupaca County, at a later date.
The family would like to thank the staffs at The Willows Assisted Living and at Heartland Hospice for their compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Mark Lutheran Church or a charity of choice.
