Roger Duane Melum

May 15, 1936 – April 28, 2022

Roger Duane Melum, age 85, of Iola, Wisconsin, passed away on Thursday, April 28, 2022.

He was born on May 15, 1936, son of the late Irving and Alma (Rivrud) Melum. 

He married Angeline Nowak on Oct 15, 1960. She preceded him in death on Feb. 8, 1990. Roger later married Marilyn Jansen in 1993.

Roger was a truck driver for numerous trucking companies throughout his career. He loved his John Deer Tractors and has quite a collection of them. He liked hanging out with the Melum boys during the gun hunting season and picking apples from his apple tree in the back yard as well as riding around the yard in his golf cart. 

Roger is survived by his Marilyn; children John (Susie) Melum, Victoria Melum; daughter-in-law  Carla Jager; grandchildren Tyler (Kellie) Melum, Brad (Angie) Melum, Rachel (Cody) Larsen, Josh (Cindy) Melum, Mason Melum, Ashley (Aaron Schmidt) Melum, and Cody Hanson; great-grandchildren Carlie, Cole, Archer, Axl, Lily, and one more due this summer; stepsons Mark Casperson and Roy (Kimberly) Casperson,

He was preceded in death by his wife Angie; son Joseph; siblings Julian, Maynard, Ernie, Lavern, Walter, Harold, and Audrey; and stepson Walter Casperson.

A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, May 4, at 1 p.m. at Voie the Funeral Home in Iola with Rev. Dan Somers officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 11 a.m.-12:45 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.  Interment will be in the Our Savior’s Lutheran Cemetery in Iola.

The family would like to thank Robin Christianson and Chris Hamilton for the excellent care, they provided to Roger.
