Robert “Bob” H. Williams

Robert H. Williams, age 96, of Iola, Wisconsin, passed away on Thursday, June 17, 2021.
He was born on April 29, 1925, in Cudahy, Wisconsin, to the late William and Anna (Goli) Williams of Iola.
Bob married Stella Knutson in October of 1950 in Ogdensburg, Wisconsin. She preceded him in death on March 11, 2018.
Bob was a member of the Iola Lions and the Iola chapter of Sons of Norway. He was known as a colorful story-teller of farm life in the Iola area before, during and after the Great Depression. He also entertained listeners with tales of his years of traveling through the Dakotas to Wyoming and Montana as a car transport driver for the General Motors Corporation.
The family moved to Anoka, Minnesota, in 1959 but kept the farm in Harrison Township to which he returned after retiring in 1987.
He is survived by sons Keith (Patricia) of Iola and Michael, Anoka, Minnesota; grandson Andrew Williams (Chelsea), Menomonie, Wisconsin; step-grandsons David Barger and Mark Williams (Christine), Stevens Point; great-grandson Iain Williams; step-great-granddaughter Kayla Williams.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, June 23, at 11 a.m. at the Hitterdahl Lutheran Church with Rev. Dale Wilson officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 9–10:45 a.m. at the Hitterdahl Lutheran Church in Iola. Burial will take place in the Hitterdahl Lutheran Cemetery.
