Rita A. Field

June 24, 1937 – February 13, 2024

Rita A. Field, 86, of Iola, Wisconsin went to her heavenly home on Feb. 13, 2024.

She was born on June 24, 1937, in Elroy, Wisconsin, to Daniel and Mary (Kalbain) Shaker.

Rita married Donald Field and he preceded her in death on Dec. 12, 2021.

Rita began her healthcare career as a candy striper at the Hillsboro Hospital during her junior year in high school.  She retired with her Ph.D. in nursing education more than 40 years later.

After retirement, she enjoyed researching family history, gardening, and photography. She was very proud of her grandchildren and enjoyed following their activities near and far with her husband Don, the love of her life.

She is survived by her children Curt (Kathy) Field, of Weyauwega, Conrad Field of Alaska, and grandchildren Eryn, Ian, and Ellen. She was preceded in death by brother John Shaker and daughter-in-law Carmen Field.

A celebration of life will be held later.
