Revyn Schrank, Ben Beck lead Iola-Scandinavia at T-Bird Invitational

Iola-Scandinavia athletes turned in strong individual performances Saturday, Aug. 30, at the T-Bird Invitational cross-country meet at the Iola Winter Sports Club, highlighted by top-five finishes from Revyn Schrank and Ben Beck.

In the middle school girls’ 2,950-meter race, Amherst’s Misty Water Fish claimed the individual title in 11 minutes, 57 seconds. St. Mary of Neenah took the team championship with 35 points, while Iola-Scandinavia placed fourth with 123. Leading the T-Birds was Nola Mae Vater, who crossed the line third overall in 12:20. Teammates Lola Jones finished 18th in 13:52.5 and Ellaina Bestul placed 27th in 14:42, both contributing to the team’s top-four finish.

On the middle school boys’ side, Lomira’s Abram Keiler won the individual title in 10:24.6. St. Mary of Neenah again took first as a team with 45 points. Iola-Scandinavia claimed fourth place with 102 points, led by Parker Poehlman, who finished 11th in 11:59.6. John Mork followed closely in 14th (12:08.2), and Daniel Burns placed 16th (12:17.2). Spencer Buelow (39th, 13:45.2) and Grayson Linjer (44th, 13:59.8) also secured top-50 finishes for the T-Birds.

In the high school girls’ 5,000-meter race, Bonduel’s Miranda Wondra took first overall in 18:44.1, while Lomira won the team title with 40 points. Iola-Scandinavia finished sixth with 150 points. Revyn Schrank paced the T-Birds with a strong fifth-place finish in 21:08.1. Cedarlyn Otremba added a 20th-place showing in 23:38.1, while Paige Timdal (36th, 24:50.6) and Ari Hahn (47th, 26:13.9) also finished inside the top 50.

The high school boys’ race saw Amherst’s Luke Eiden capture the individual crown in 16:27.1, helping his team secure the championship with 57 points. Iola-Scandinavia finished with 153 points, led by an outstanding performance from Ben Beck, who placed runner-up in 16:31.4. Jack Beck earned 14th place in 19:22.4, and Evan Linjer finished 22nd in 19:46.2 to round out the T-Birds’ top-50 finishers.

The T-Bird Invitational once again showcased both veteran and developing talent for Iola-Scandinavia, with strong finishes across middle school and high school levels.
